Who Am I?
Hello! I believe my name is Barrett T. Richards, though you can drop the T if you want and just call me Barrett Richards, or even just Barrett if you want to save time.
I am a young twenty something year old who lives in the great state of Texas. Movies, storytelling, adventure, pizza, and a nice riesling white wine are all things I enjoy.
I have been writing seriously since the end of high school. I have attended college since then and have obtained a degree in creative writing (Whoo-Hoo). My long time goal is to write a story in every genre of writing: Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, a screenplay, a stage play, and anything else I learn about as the years go by.
Stories
Like many young/amateur/semi-decent writers, it’s hard to publish my work. It’s a difficult industry to say the least, but I figured if people truly wanted to read my work I should just put it on the internet for free!
Below will be a link to some of my favorite stories I’ve written. Feel free to download them, give ’em a read, and let me know what you think.
I have attached a google form where anyone can send me notes on a story, list out what you did or didn’t like, or offer up some ideas for future stories!

Welcome To Grin & Barrett
This is a place where you don’t have to take yourself too seriously. I want this website to be a hub for finding joy in writing, a space to engage with exciting concepts, and a challenge for writers to create things outside of their comfort zone. Part of the joy in writing is the exploration of the unknown, and that exploration is why writing is so exciting, because you’ll never know what you might discover.
I’m happy to share links to websites and videos that I have found to be extremely helpful in my own writing journey. Feel free to click the link below to learn more about the craft of storytelling!
